“Hand with Reflecting Sphere”

In this project, I replicated M.C. Escher’s self-portrait “Hand with Reflecting Sphere” using a robot to draw on a large canvas with a ballpoint pen. The canvas measured 160×100 centimeters, marking my first attempt to “go big” in scale. The complexity of the task was evident in the 3 million lines of code required to guide the robot’s movements. Escher, known for his innovative use of mathematics in art, has always fascinated me, especially his pencil drawings. This fascination inspired me to equip my robot with a pencil, honoring Escher’s style and pioneering spirit in my own robotic art.
