In this project, I engage with a robot in a simple yet profound act: the robot outlines my hands, a gesture reminiscent of prehistoric cave art, where early humans left handprints as a form of self-expression and identity. This project draws a parallel to how young children in kindergarten outline their hands, an act that fosters self-awareness and individuality.

This interaction with the robot reflects our digital era, emphasizing the relationship between human creativity and technological tools. The robot, rather than being an autonomous entity, serves as an extension of my own artistic capabilities. This allows me to simultaneously outline both hands, a feat that symbolizes the enhanced abilities provided by technology. The robot, as my tool, becomes an integral part of the creative process, highlighting the human mind’s control and direction in the artistic journey. This project is a powerful statement about the use of technology not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a means to augment and expand our artistic expression.

In this art series, which I regard as the first true expression of my inner self, I moved away from the pursuit of perfection and instead embraced creation for its own sake.

My inability to draw traditionally led me to use Midjourney to generate hundreds of images, out of which only a few deeply resonated with me. These images, rooted in my contemplation of consciousness, emergence, and the possibility of technological singularity, represent a personal exploration of my thoughts and feelings. I then used a robot to draw these select images.

The process, demanding extensive computational time and several days for the robot to complete the drawing, recently allowed me to achieve larger-sized artworks, showcasing a significant evolution in my artistic journey.

The most  of the material for this colection I gathered during my travel with caravan accross europe… I’ve met people discussing life it self visiting places all of this helped to better understand me and the world. 

At the 2019 SlovakiaTech Expo, I had the opportunity to present a unique exhibition featuring a drawing robot I designed. This installation was a focal point, where the robot meticulously recreated an artwork inspired by an engraving of the façade of the Cathedral of Notre Dame. The original engraving, a masterful depiction of this iconic Gothic architecture, is one I have always admired and can be seen on Wikipedia.

In this project, I aimed to merge the realms of technology and historical art. It was a journey that allowed me to offer a fresh perspective on a classic masterpiece through the precision and ingenuity of modern robotics. This exhibition was not just about showcasing my skills in engineering and robotics; it was about creating a bridge between the past and the present. It highlighted how traditional art forms can be reimagined and revitalized using contemporary digital techniques. My goal was to capture the essence of the Cathedral’s intricate details through the calculated and delicate movements of the robot, bringing a centuries-old artwork to life in a new, dynamic form.

This journey to explore the interplay between technology and human identity. The core of this exploration involved photographing visitors and then reinterpreting these images through the precise and calculated strokes of a robotic arm. This process was more than a mere artistic technique; it was a deep dive into understanding how technology perceives the nuances and complexities of human faces.

Each visitor to the exhibition became a part of this artistic endeavor, not just as a subject but as a collaborator. As they stood before the camera, they contributed their unique identity to the project, and then watched as the robot meticulously recreated their likeness. This interaction blurred traditional roles in the art world. Here, the visitors were not just passive observers; they were active participants, their faces the canvas on which technology left its mark. After performance people took their drawing

The project aimed to spark a dialogue about the evolving relationship between humans and machines in the realm of art. It questioned the authenticity and emotional depth that a machine can replicate, and whether a robotic interpretation could capture the essence of a human subject. It also served as a reflection on the growing digital footprint in our lives and how technology increasingly mediates our self-perception and interactions with others.

This body of work was not just an exhibition; it was a live experiment in identity, technology, and artistic expression. It challenged viewers to reconsider their own identity in the face of advancing technology and provoked thoughts about the future of art in an increasingly digital world.
